Brandon Duhaime Injury: Status in question Sunday
Wild forward could miss third straight game with upper-body injury
Brandon Duhaime is questionable to play Sunday against the Vegas Golden Knights due to an upper-body injury, coach Dean Evason said Saturday.
Duhaime has missed the Wild's past two games with the injury. He was injured in the third period of the Wild's 4-3 overtime loss to the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday.
The Wild recalled forward Mason Shaw from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League on Saturday to take Duhaime's place in the lineup.
Duhaime has been a key part of the Wild's penalty kill this season
Duhaime has played in 18 games for the Wild this season, recording four assists. He has also been a key part of the Wild's penalty kill, averaging 1:42 of shorthanded time on ice per game.
If Duhaime is unable to play Sunday, the Wild will be without one of their top penalty killers. The Wild are currently ranked 10th in the NHL in penalty killing.
Wild will also be without Ryan Hartman on Sunday
The Wild will also be without forward Ryan Hartman on Sunday. Hartman is serving the first game of a two-game suspension for a hit to the head of Blues forward Brayden Schenn on Tuesday.
Hartman is one of the Wild's top forwards, so his absence will be a big loss for the team.
Wild looking to snap two-game losing streak
The Wild are looking to snap a two-game losing streak on Sunday against the Golden Knights.
The Wild have lost their past two games by a combined score of 9-3. They will need to play much better defensively if they want to beat the Golden Knights, who are one of the top teams in the NHL.
