Broncos trade for WR DeAndre Hopkins

A major trade was made in the NFL today as the Denver Broncos acquired star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins from the Arizona Cardinals.

In exchange for Hopkins, the Broncos sent a package of players and draft picks to the Cardinals, including wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, running back Melvin Gordon, and a 2024 first-round pick.

Hopkins is a three-time Pro Bowler and one-time All-Pro who has been one of the most productive wide receivers in the NFL over the past several seasons.

In 2022, he caught 71 passes for 1,033 yards and six touchdowns despite playing in an offense led by struggling quarterback Kyler Murray.

Hopkins is expected to play a major role in the Broncos' offense, which is led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes is one of the most talented quarterbacks in the NFL, and he is expected to benefit greatly from having a receiver of Hopkins' caliber to throw to.

The Broncos are hoping that the addition of Hopkins will help them compete for a Super Bowl in 2023. They have a talented roster on both sides of the ball, and they believe that Hopkins is the missing piece that they need to take them to the next level.
