Browns DT Mike Hall Jr. Placed on Injured Reserve; Team Signs 2 to Active Roster
Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. was placed on injured reserve Tuesday after suffering a torn pectoral muscle in Sunday's loss to the New York Jets.
Hall, 24, started the first two games of the season for the Browns but was injured in the first quarter of Sunday's game. He had four tackles and one sack before leaving the game.
The Browns also announced that they have signed defensive end Curtis Weaver and defensive tackle Roderick Perry II to the active roster from the practice squad.
Weaver, 23, was a third-round pick by the Miami Dolphins in the 2020 NFL Draft. He has played in 13 games in his career, recording six tackles and one sack.
Perry, 25, was an undrafted free agent out of Ole Miss in 2020. He has played in 11 games in his career, recording four tackles.
The Browns are now 2-1 on the season and will host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night Football in Week 3.
The Steelers are also 2-1 on the season, so this will be a key AFC North matchup.
With Hall out, the Browns will likely turn to Sheldon Day and Jordan Elliott to fill the void at defensive tackle.
Day has started the first two games of the season and has four tackles, while Elliott has played in both games and has three tackles.
The Browns also have Malik McDowell on the roster, but he is still working his way back from a quadriceps injury.
McDowell, 26, was a second-round pick by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2017 NFL Draft. He has played in 23 games in his career, recording 10 tackles and one sack.
