Browns LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah excited for 'opportunity' to take over at middle linebacker
Cleveland released veteran Jordan Hicks earlier this week
With the release of veteran Jordan Hicks, the Cleveland Browns have a void at the middle linebacker position. However, they may have the answer already on the roster in Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah.
Owusu-Koramoah has been praised for his athleticism and instincts
Owusu-Koramoah was a second-round pick by the Browns in the 2021 NFL Draft and played in all 17 games last season, starting six. He finished with 76 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and three tackles for loss.
Despite his limited starting experience, Owusu-Koramoah has impressed the Browns' coaching staff with his athleticism and instincts. He is a sideline-to-sideline player who can also rush the passer.

With Hicks now out of the picture, Owusu-Koramoah is expected to take over as the Browns' starting middle linebacker. He is excited for the opportunity to prove himself and help the Browns improve on their 8-9 record from last season.
"I'm just excited for the opportunity," Owusu-Koramoah said. "I think it's a great opportunity for me to grow as a player and help this team win."
The Browns are hoping that Owusu-Koramoah can be a key part of their defense in 2023. He has the potential to be a star, and the Browns are excited to see what he can do this season.
Owusu-Koramoah's former Baltimore Ravens teammate weighs in
Owusu-Koramoah's former Baltimore Ravens teammate, Patrick Queen, believes that Owusu-Koramoah has the potential to be a great player in this league.
"He's a very talented player," Queen said. "He's fast, he's physical, and he's smart. I think he has a chance to be a really good player in this league."
Queen added that Owusu-Koramoah is a hard worker and is always willing to learn.
"He's always asking questions and trying to get better," Queen said. "He's a guy that wants to be great, and I think he has the potential to do that."
