Browns LT Jedrick Wills Jr. ruled out for Saints game with flare-up of knee injury; Mike Hall Jr. to IR
Cleveland Browns left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints due to a flare-up of his knee injury.
Wills has been dealing with the injury since the Browns’ Week 2 win over the New York Jets. He missed the following two games before returning to the lineup in Week 5 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Wills played the entire game against the Chargers, but he was clearly not 100 percent. He was limited in practice this week, and the Browns decided to hold him out of Sunday’s game in order to give him more time to recover.
In Wills’ absence, Blake Hance will start at left tackle for the Browns. Hance has started 14 games at left tackle in his career, including 10 starts with the Browns last season.
The Browns also placed defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. on injured reserve on Saturday. Hall has been dealing with a shoulder injury, and he has not played since the Browns’ Week 4 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
With Hall on IR, the Browns will be without their top two defensive tackles for Sunday’s game. Sheldon Day is expected to start at nose tackle, and Tommy Togiai will likely start at defensive tackle.
