D.J. Chark Jr. Agrees To Terms With The Los Angeles Chargers
Depth Needed For Los Angeles Chargers
Wide receiver D.J. Chark Jr., who played for the Detroit Lions in 2022, has agreed to a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers were in need of wide receiver depth after Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, and Joshua Palmer were the only players on the depth chart with any type of experience. Chark brings a veteran presence to a young team that is looking to make a run in the playoffs.
Injury Concerns For Chark
Chark is coming off of a season where he played in only four games due to an ankle injury. He finished the season with 15 catches for 194 yards and one touchdown. The Chargers are hoping that Chark can stay healthy and provide them with a reliable target in the passing game. Chark is a talented receiver, but he has had trouble staying healthy throughout his career.
Chark's Past With Jim Harbaugh
Chark played college football at Michigan under Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh is now the head coach of the Chargers. Chark is familiar with Harbaugh's offense and should be able to contribute right away. The Chargers are hoping that Chark can be a key part of their offense in 2023. They are looking to make a deep playoff run and Chark could be a big part of that success.
