Hardie, Zampa and Stoinis set up clinical win
Australia seals series with win over India
Clinical performance by Australia ensures series victory
Australia defeated India by 50 runs in the second One-Day International (ODI) at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Sunday, sealing the three-match series with an unassailable 2-0 lead.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Australia posted a competitive total of 389 for four, thanks to a superb century from David Warner (101) and a half-century from Steve Smith (56).
In reply, India were bowled out for 339 in 49.2 overs, with Hardik Pandya top-scoring with 92. Mitchell Starc was the pick of the Australian bowlers, taking three wickets for 56 runs.
The win was set up by a clinical performance from Australia's bowlers, who kept the Indian batsmen in check throughout the innings.
Adam Zampa was particularly impressive, taking two wickets for 54 runs, while Glenn Maxwell also picked up two wickets.
Marcus Stoinis was also among the wickets, taking one for 48, while Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins each took one wicket.
The victory was a welcome one for Australia, who had lost the first ODI by six wickets.
It also gives them a much-needed boost ahead of the upcoming Cricket World Cup, which will be held in England and Wales from May 30 to July 14.
The third and final ODI of the series will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Wednesday.
