Justin Tucker Is 'Still Confident' After More Missed Kicks in Ravens' Loss
Ravens Kicker's Recent Struggles Continue in Team's Defeat
Justin Tucker, the Baltimore Ravens' normally reliable kicker, has missed four field goals and three extra points in the past two games, including two misses in Sunday's 27-16 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Despite his recent struggles, Tucker remains confident in his abilities. "I'm still confident in myself," Tucker said. "I know I can make those kicks. I just have to keep working and get back to the level I know I can be at."
Tucker's Missed Kicks Cost Ravens Victory
According to ESPN, Tucker's missed kicks proved costly for the Ravens, who fell to 9-6 on the season and dropped into a tie for the AFC North lead with the Bengals.
Tucker missed a 48-yard field goal attempt wide left in the first quarter and a 50-yarder wide right in the third quarter. He also missed an extra point attempt after the Ravens' first touchdown of the game.
The Ravens were still in position to win the game late in the fourth quarter, but Tucker's missed field goal attempts prevented them from taking the lead.
Tucker's Struggles Unusual
Tucker's recent struggles are unusual for the kicker who has been one of the most reliable in the NFL throughout his career.
Tucker has made 90.1% of his field goal attempts and 98.6% of his extra point attempts during his 11 seasons with the Ravens.
Tucker's missed kicks in recent weeks have coincided with the Ravens' struggles as a team. The Ravens have lost three of their last four games and are now in danger of missing the playoffs.
