Lions minus LaPorta vs. Jaguars due to shoulder
Detroit Lions will host the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, but they'll be without one of their top offensive weapons.
Wide receiver Tom LaPorta is inactive for Sunday's game due to a shoulder injury. LaPorta, a second-year player, has been a key contributor for the Lions this season, catching 20 passes for 248 yards and three touchdowns.
LaPorta's absence is a blow to the Lions' passing attack, as he is one of quarterback Jared Goff's favorite targets. The Lions will need other receivers, such as Amon-Ra St. Brown, DJ Chark, and Kalif Raymond, to step up in LaPorta's absence.
The Jaguars will also be without a key player on Sunday, as cornerback Shaquill Griffin is also inactive due to a back injury. Griffin is one of the Jaguars' best defensive backs, and his absence will be a boost to the Lions' passing game.
The Lions and Jaguars are both 1-4 this season, so Sunday's game is a must-win for both teams. The Lions will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak, while the Jaguars will be looking to win their first home game of the season.
The game will be played at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan, and is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. ET.
