National Weather Service Issues Tornado Warning
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a tornado warning for Blaine, Garfield, Kingfisher, and Major counties in southwestern Oklahoma.
The warning was issued at 6:45 p.m. CST and is in effect until 7:45 p.m. CST.
The NWS reports that a tornado has been confirmed on the ground near the town of Watonga in Blaine County.
Residents Urged To Take Shelter Immediately
The NWS is urging residents in the affected counties to take shelter immediately.
Those in the path of the tornado should seek refuge in a sturdy building or underground shelter.
If you are unable to find shelter, lie down in a ditch or other low-lying area and cover your head with your hands.
