Malcolm Brogdon Injury: Listed out for Monday
Boston Celtics guard Malcolm Brogdon is listed out for Monday's game against the Orlando Magic due to a non-COVID illness, the team announced.
Brogdon missed Saturday's game against the Charlotte Hornets with the same illness and is now considered day-to-day.
The Celtics are already without Jaylen Brown (facial fracture) and Robert Williams III (knee surgery), so Brogdon's absence is a significant blow to their backcourt rotation.
Brogdon has averaged 14.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 44 games this season, shooting 45.3% from the field and 33.8% from three-point range.
In Brogdon's absence, Derrick White is expected to start at point guard, with Marcus Smart moving to shooting guard and Payton Pritchard coming off the bench.
The Celtics are 34-12 this season, tied for the best record in the Eastern Conference.
