Weddington, NC - A massive explosion has left one person dead and destroyed a home in Union County. The incident occurred around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 31st, at a residence on Providence Road in Weddington.
According to the Waxhaw Fire Department, the explosion leveled the home and caused significant damage to nearby properties. One person was found deceased at the scene, and several others were injured. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
