Miami Dolphins Inactives, Week 5

Who's Out for the Dolphins?

The Miami Dolphins have ruled out seven players for Sunday's Week 5 game against the New York Jets, including three starters. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (concussion), wide receiver Jaylen Waddle (groin), and cornerback Byron Jones (Achilles) will all miss the game. Other inactives for the Dolphins include: * Running back Myles Gaskin (knee) * Offensive tackle Terron Armstead (toe) * Defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah (back) * Safety Eric Rowe (foot)

Tagovailoa's Concussion

Tagovailoa is in the concussion protocol after suffering a head injury in last week's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. He was cleared to practice on a limited basis this week, but he did not participate in Friday's practice and was ruled out for Sunday's game. Teddy Bridgewater will start at quarterback for the Dolphins in place of Tagovailoa. Bridgewater has started two games for the Dolphins this season, completing 65.2% of his passes for 470 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.

Waddle's Groin Injury

Waddle suffered a groin injury in last week's game and did not practice this week. He is one of the Dolphins' most dynamic playmakers, and his absence will be a blow to the offense. River Cracraft and Cedrick Wilson are expected to start at wide receiver in place of Waddle. Cracraft has 10 catches for 169 yards and a touchdown this season, while Wilson has 17 catches for 224 yards and two touchdowns.

Jones' Achilles Injury

Jones has been dealing with an Achilles injury since the preseason. He aggravated the injury in last week's game and did not practice this week. Noah Igbinoghene and Kader Kohou are expected to start at cornerback in place of Jones. Igbinoghene has started four games for the Dolphins this season, while Kohou has started one game.

Outlook for the Dolphins

The Dolphins are 3-1 this season, but they will face a tough test on Sunday against the Jets. The Jets are 3-1 and have a strong defense. The Dolphins will need to play well on both sides of the ball to win this game. They will need to protect Bridgewater and give him time to throw, and they will need to force turnovers on defense. If the Dolphins can do those things, they have a good chance of winning this game and improving to 4-1.
