Muslim cleric condemns remarks, demands apology

Bhopal: A prominent Muslim cleric in Madhya Pradesh has expressed outrage over All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi's recent "15 minutes left" statement, calling it "irresponsible" and "provocative."

Statement Sparks Furor

Owaisi, a Lok Sabha MP from Hyderabad, made the remarks on Sunday while addressing a rally in Maharashtra's Aurangabad. He had warned that the BJP government "only has 15 minutes left" to rule before the Muslim community would "take to the streets."

The statement has drawn widespread condemnation, with many criticizing Owaisi for inciting communal tensions.

Cleric Demands Apology

Hazrat Maulana Syed Mushtaq Ali Nadvi, the Shahi Imam of Bhopal's Jama Masjid, has demanded an apology from Owaisi. "His statement is highly irresponsible and can have dangerous consequences," Nadvi said. "It is an attempt to create fear and divide the society."

Nadvi urged Owaisi to withdraw his remarks and apologize to the Muslim community. He emphasized that Islam promotes peace and harmony and that such provocative statements are un-Islamic.

Call for Restraint

The Madhya Pradesh government has appealed for calm and restraint. Home Minister Narottam Mishra said the police are monitoring the situation and will take strict action against anyone who tries to disrupt peace.
