'Must adopt new technology, replace chemicals in farming,' says Yogi Adityanath
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday stressed the need to adopt new technology and replace chemicals in farming.
"We need to adopt new technology and replace chemicals in farming. We have to move towards natural farming," Adityanath said while addressing a gathering of farmers in Lucknow.
He said that the use of chemicals in farming is harmful to both the environment and human health.
Adityanath also urged farmers to adopt organic farming practices, which he said are more sustainable and profitable.
"Organic farming is the future of agriculture. It is not only good for the environment, but also for our health," he said.
The chief minister said that the state government is committed to promoting organic farming and will provide all possible assistance to farmers who want to adopt this practice.
He also announced that the government will set up a dedicated organic farming mission to promote this type of agriculture in the state.
"The mission will provide farmers with training, technical assistance, and marketing support," Adityanath said.
The chief minister's call for adopting new technology and replacing chemicals in farming comes at a time when there is growing concern about the harmful effects of chemical fertilizers and pesticides on the environment and human health.
