Norwegian striker scores three goals in dominant display

Manchester City-bound striker Haaland continues impressive goalscoring form

Norway booked their place at the Nations League's top table with a 5-0 thrashing of Kazakhstan on Saturday, with Erling Haaland scoring a hat-trick.

The Manchester City-bound striker took his international tally to 20 goals in 21 appearances with a clinical display in Oslo.

Haaland opened the scoring in the 28th minute, finishing coolly after being played through by Martin Odegaard.

He doubled his tally just six minutes later, heading home from close range after a cross from Birger Meling.

Haaland completed his hat-trick in the 64th minute, tapping in from close range after a pass from Alexander Sorloth.

Alexander Sorloth and Kristian Thorstvedt added further goals in the closing stages to complete the rout.

The victory means Norway finish top of League B Group 4 and will compete in League A in the next edition of the Nations League.

Haaland continues impressive goalscoring form

Haaland's hat-trick was his second in as many games for Norway, following his treble against Slovenia in June.

The 22-year-old has now scored 15 goals in his last 10 appearances for club and country, and has taken his tally for the season to 23 in 19 games.

Haaland's goalscoring form has been a major factor in Norway's success in the Nations League, with the team winning five of their six matches in Group 4.

Norway secure promotion to League A

Norway's victory over Kazakhstan means they finish top of League B Group 4 and will compete in League A in the next edition of the Nations League.

This is a significant achievement for Norway, who have never played in the top tier of the Nations League before.

Norway will be joined in League A by Scotland, who won League B Group 1, and Israel, who won League B Group 2.
