Ravens make significant roster moves ahead of 2023 season
Baltimore Ravens part ways with several veterans
The Baltimore Ravens have announced several roster moves ahead of the 2023 season, including the release of several veteran players.
Among those released are wide receiver DeSean Jackson, running back Le'Veon Bell, and defensive end Calais Campbell.
Jackson, 35, has been with the Ravens for two seasons, catching 44 passes for 551 yards and three touchdowns.
Bell, 30, joined the Ravens in 2020 and rushed for 328 yards and two touchdowns in 19 games.
Campbell, 36, played for the Ravens for two seasons, starting 22 games and recording 6.5 sacks.
Ravens sign several free agents
The Ravens have also signed several free agents, including wide receiver Sammy Watkins, running back Mike Davis, and defensive end Brent Urban.
Watkins, 29, has played for the Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams, and Kansas City Chiefs during his career, catching 335 passes for 4,734 yards and 33 touchdowns.
Davis, 29, has played for the Carolina Panthers, Seattle Seahawks, and Atlanta Falcons during his career, rushing for 2,426 yards and 22 touchdowns.
Urban, 32, has played for the Tennessee Titans, Baltimore Ravens, and Dallas Cowboys during his career, recording 14.5 sacks.
Ravens have high expectations for 2023 season
The Ravens have high expectations for the 2023 season after finishing 8-9 in 2022.
The Ravens have a talented roster led by quarterback Lamar Jackson, running back J.K. Dobbins, and wide receiver Rashod Bateman.
The Ravens also have a strong defense led by cornerback Marlon Humphrey, safety Marcus Williams, and outside linebacker Odafe Oweh.
The Ravens are hoping to make a run to the Super Bowl in 2023.
