Scottie Barnes' Injury Update
Barnes Returns to Team, But Will Miss Weekend Games
Raptors Forward Sidelined With Right Knee Soreness
Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes has returned to the team after missing the last five games with right knee soreness, but he will not play in either of the team's back-to-back games this weekend against the Chicago Bulls and New Orleans Pelicans, head coach Nick Nurse said Friday.
Barnes, the reigning Rookie of the Year, has been dealing with the injury since before the All-Star break and has missed 10 games this season.
The Raptors are currently 27-32 and in 10th place in the Eastern Conference. They are 3-7 in their last 10 games.
Barnes is averaging 15.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game this season. He is a key part of the Raptors' young core, along with Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet.
The Raptors are hoping that Barnes will be able to return to the lineup next week when they host the Boston Celtics on Wednesday.
