Sri Lanka has clinched the ODI series against New Zealand with a 21-run victory in the second ODI played at Pallekele on Saturday.
Sri Lanka batted first and scored 266 for 9 in their 50 overs. Opener Pathum Nissanka top-scored for Sri Lanka with 72 runs, while Dhananjaya de Silva contributed 66 runs.
In reply, New Zealand was bowled out for 245 in 48.3 overs. Devon Conway scored 81 runs for New Zealand, while Glenn Phillips contributed 56 runs.
Wanindu Hasaranga was the pick of the bowlers for Sri Lanka, taking 3 wickets for 44 runs. Kasun Rajitha and Chamika Karunaratne also picked up two wickets each.
With this victory, Sri Lanka has taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. The third and final ODI will be played on Tuesday at the same venue.
