Tilak Varma’s 64 powers India to 219/6

Tilak Varma’s maiden half-century and Arshdeep Singh’s three-wicket haul helped India beat South Africa by seven wickets in the third and final ODI in Delhi on Tuesday. With this win, India clinched the three-match series 2-1, having lost the first match in Lucknow.

Varma, playing in only his second ODI, struck a fluent 64 off 72 balls, while Ishan Kishan (27) and Shreyas Iyer (28) also made significant contributions.

Arshdeep shines with the ball

Arshdeep was the star with the ball for India, taking 3/32 in his 10 overs. He removed Reeza Hendricks (19), Aiden Markram (49) and Heinrich Klaasen (34) to peg back South Africa.

Avesh Khan (2/52) and Mohammed Siraj (2/69) also chipped in with two wickets each.

South Africa bowled out for 215

Earlier, South Africa were bowled out for 215 in 49.2 overs. Reeza Hendricks (19), Aiden Markram (49) and Heinrich Klaasen (34) were the only batsmen to get starts, as the Indian bowlers kept them under pressure throughout the innings.

India will now face South Africa in a three-match T20I series, starting on June 9 in Delhi.
