Timberwolves Steal Game 1 vs. Suns With Edwards' Buzzer-Beater
The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Phoenix Suns 113-110 in Game 1 of their Western Conference semifinals series on Tuesday night. The game was tied with just seconds remaining when Anthony Edwards hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer to give the Timberwolves the win.
Edwards finished the game with 33 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. Karl-Anthony Towns added 25 points and 10 rebounds, and D'Angelo Russell chipped in with 19 points.
For the Suns, Devin Booker led the way with 27 points. Deandre Ayton added 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Chris Paul had 19 points and 9 assists.
The Timberwolves took a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter, but the Suns fought back to tie the game with just over a minute remaining. Edwards then hit a jumper to give the Timberwolves a two-point lead, and after the Suns missed a shot, Edwards grabbed the rebound and hit the game-winning three-pointer.
With the loss, the Suns fall behind 1-0 in the series. Game 2 is scheduled for Thursday night in Phoenix.
