Ovechkin Leads Capitals to Victory
Alex Ovechkin scored a hat trick as the Washington Capitals defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 5-2 on Tuesday night. The Capitals have won three of their last four games and are now 14-10-5 on the season.
Ovechkin's first goal came on a power play in the first period. He then added two more goals in the third period to complete his hat trick. Ovechkin now has 802 career goals, moving him within 18 goals of Wayne Gretzky's all-time record.
Golden Knights Fall Short
The Golden Knights have now lost two of their last three games and are 12-11-3 on the season. Vegas has struggled to find consistency this season, but they remain in the playoff race in the Western Conference.
The Golden Knights were led by William Karlsson, who scored a goal and an assist. Shea Theodore also scored for Vegas.
Capitals Continue to Impress
