Detroit Lions List 6 Players as OUT vs. Jaguars
Who's Out for the Lions?
The Detroit Lions have ruled out six players for their Week 14 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, including starting quarterback Jared Goff.
Goff is dealing with an oblique injury that he suffered in the Lions' Week 13 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He is expected to miss multiple games.
The other five players who have been ruled out are:
- RB D'Andre Swift (ankle)
- WR Jameson Williams (knee)
- TE Brock Wright (concussion)
- S DeShon Elliott (knee)
- CB Jeff Okudah (concussion)
What Does This Mean for the Lions?
The Lions will be without some of their key players on Sunday, including their starting quarterback, running back, and two starting defensive backs.
With Goff out, Tim Boyle is expected to start at quarterback.
Justin Jackson will likely start at running back in place of Swift. The Lions will also be without Jamaal Williams, who is on injured reserve with a knee injury.
In the secondary, the Lions will be without Elliott and Okudah. Amani Oruwariye and Mike Hughes are expected to start at cornerback, while Tracy Walker and Kerby Joseph will start at safety.
Can the Lions Win Without These Players?
The Lions are a 6.5-point underdog against the Jaguars, who are 5-7 on the season.
It will be tough for the Lions to win without some of their key players, but they have shown resilience all season.
The Lions are 4-8 on the season, but they have been competitive in most of their games.
They have a chance to win on Sunday if they can play well on defense and take advantage of their opportunities on offense.
