DJ Chark Healthy Scratch for Week 11
Lions WR placed on inactives list for contest against Giants
Detroit Lions wide receiver DJ Chark is officially inactive for the team's Week 11 contest against the New York Giants. Chark, who has been dealing with an ankle injury, was listed as questionable on the team's final injury report and was not able to practice fully this week.
Chark's absence is a blow to the Lions' passing attack. The 26-year-old wideout ranks second on the team with 34 receptions for 544 yards and three touchdowns this season. He has also been a favorite target of quarterback Jared Goff, averaging 7.3 targets per game.
With Chark out, the Lions will likely turn to Quintez Cephus and Kalif Raymond to fill the void at wide receiver. Cephus has 11 catches for 169 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Raymond has 10 catches for 124 yards and one touchdown.
The Lions will face a tough test against the Giants' defense, which ranks 12th in the NFL in passing yards allowed. The Giants have also recorded 11 interceptions this season, which is tied for the fourth-most in the league.
Despite the absence of Chark, the Lions will be hoping to bounce back from a disappointing loss to the Washington Commanders last week. The Lions have a 4-6 record this season and are in need of a win to keep their playoff hopes alive.
