Grizzlies Show Potential in Preseason Victory
Memphis, Tennessee (Nov. 11, 2023) - The Memphis Grizzlies put on a dominant performance in their preseason matchup against the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night, winning 118-95. Led by Ja Morant's 26 points and 8 assists, the Grizzlies controlled the game from start to finish. The Grizzlies' bench also stepped up in a big way, with Desmond Bane adding 18 points and Brandon Clarke chipping in 16. The Wizards struggled to find their footing throughout the game, with Bradley Beal leading the team with 19 points on 7-of-19 shooting. Kristaps Porzingis added 17 points, but the Wizards' offense was disjointed and unable to keep pace with the Grizzlies' high-octane attack.
Grizzlies' Defense Shines
In addition to their strong offensive performance, the Grizzlies' defense was also impressive. They held the Wizards to just 28.6% shooting from three-point range and forced 15 turnovers.
Jaren Jackson Jr. was a force in the paint, blocking three shots and altering several others. The Grizzlies' length and athleticism made it difficult for the Wizards to get any easy looks at the basket.
